Robin Curran


Robin founded FACE Academy  in 2017,realising her dream of providing a purpose built dermatology and cosmetic training facility dedicated to excellence in clinical standards and client safety.

Working in healthcare, direct clinical care and management positions spanning over 25 years, Robin has over 10 years experience in the  cosmetic/dermatology arena. Robin has developed her skill and expertise in dermal conditions & treatments in private dermatology clinics as well as training for pharmaceutical companies, working with clinical, medical and industry experts.

Currently, chairperson of the cosmetic nurse focus-group within the Australian College of Nursing, Robin has a passion for the advancement of cosmetic nurses, standards of practice and patient safety within the cosmetic field.

Robin is a published author and is currently involved in research projects within the emerging field of cosmetic nursing.

Robin is a Industry recognised experienced clinical trainer and guest speaker within the cosmetic dermatology field. Her clinical experience is under-pinned by a Nursing/Health Science degree, a Masters of Business Administration as well as post-graduate studies in pharmaceuticals, management, nursing and scheduled medicines.


 Robin is currently studying the Masters of Nurse Practitioner through Queensland University of Technology and will graduate in 2021.


Dr Ghassan Abiad

Dr Gus Abiad  B.AppSci(Orthoptics) MBBS PhD


Dr Gus is the  supervising medical practitioner at Face Academy.

He has a keen interest in aesthetics,specializing in dermatology.

Dr Gus is available for medical consultations, skin checks and health checks as well as complex aesthetic procedures such as blepharoplasty (eye-lid surgery), mole removal, non-surgical face-lift, double-chin reduction and other dermatological procedures.

Dr Gus is available by appointment at the Academy

Dr Gus is an accredited optometrist with a PhD, a Bachelor of medicine and surgery and has completed studies in dermatology.

Kelly Beasy 

 B.Nursing  Grad.Cert Cosmetic Nursing M.Nurse Practitioner MACN MACNP

Kelly Beasy brings 18 years of experience to nursing with 8 years practising in the aesthetic industry.  Kelly started her career in the Aesthetic industry in Harley St, London in 2004 working for a plastic surgeon which sparked her passion for aesthetic medicine. 


Returning to Australia in 2007 she completed her grad cert in cosmetic nursing in 2009 and completed a Masters of Nurse Practitioner in 2020.  Currently working for  the Artisan Aesthetic clinics as a senior cosmetic clinician and a senior clinical trainer and mentor with FACE Academy,which allows her to share that passion with new and upcoming clinicians.  Committed to delivering premium quality care whilst ensuring the highest industry standards of safety are followed ensures she achieves exceptional aesthetic outcomes for her clients.

Rachel Witney-Lacey

B.Nursing MACN 

Rachel completed her Bachelor of Nursing in 2014, twice making the Dean’s list for Academic Excellence and further completed a Graduate program through the Division of Rehabilitation, Spinal Injury Unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2015. She works in both the acute and rehabilitation side of spinal injury and has received more than a dozen certificates in recognition of her support with facilitating student nurses. 


In November 2017 Rachel sought training for her strong interest in aesthetic and cosmetic nursing. Driven by her high expectation of clinical excellence and NMBA nursing domains completed the Face Academy Anti-wrinkle Introductory Course. 

Rachel is a Senior Clinical Educator with expertise in the aesthetic and dermatology, training  APHRA registered Healthcare professionals in a variety of cosmetic modalities.

Rachel mentors cosmetic nurses on a regular basis in FACE Academy and externally.
